They are in general friendly birds, easy to tame and good layers of a white egg. They make great pets and are suitable for a garden.
Polands do require a little more attention than most breeds but are well worth the effort.
MANAGEMANT
they are known for their unique crest of feathers
on their head.The breed probably originated on the continent but its true origins are not known.
The crest feathers grow on a small dome on the top of the skull, the hens crest is neat and round like a powder puff, where-as the cockerals crest is more extravagant and 'umbrella' like.
We keep our birds on a small scale as a hobby, we keep several colours in both smooth feathered and frizzled feathered birds which can be seen on our gallery pages.
